We are a specialist cold chain provider, enabling market access for blue-chip clients throughout Southern Africa. We understand that maintaining a product’s specified temperature regime is vital in ensuring that it reaches the shelf in the quality and efficacy in which it was intended.

Aspen Logistics was founded in 2000 as a transport brokerage. By 2003 we had evolved into a full-fledged cold chain service provider, with a state-of-the-art fleet and dedicated team. In 2016 Aspen Logistics was acquired by Barloworld Logistics and we became a specialist business unit within the Transport division. Aspen Logistics’ specialised services, combined with the powerhouse that is Barloworld Logistics, makes us a leading player in the cold chain market.

As a truly local business, now part of the 110 year Barloworld legacy, we are proudly Level 2 BBBEE contributor. Our local roots mean we have extensive local knowledge so we are able to translate global best practice into solutions uniquely relevant to the SADC economies. Technology enabled operations

Our fleet and operations are equipped with the latest technologies to rigorously maintain temperatures throughout trips.  Our dual-refrigerated trailers are fitted with a high specification refrigeration unit that have dual evaporators and partitions allowing for frozen, chilled and ambient products to be carried in one unit. All our cooling units are of the highest standard, and have data loggers with download facilities, not only ensuring that your load gets to its destination at the right temperature but providing traceability and visibility into the maintenance of that regime throughout a loads journey.

Sustainable transport

Our vehicles are constantly maintained and upgraded to ensure that we continuously decrease our carbon footprint. Our reefer double-stacking trailers offer double payload capacity meaning that the cost per trip is decreased and also lowering carbon emissions per unit moved.

We are not simply a transporter, we are a solutions creator for our partner clients, using a problem solving approach that first intimately understands our client’s needs, then creates bespoke solutions to enable their unique strategic requirements.
